WOLF HOME PRODUCTS INTRODUCES WOLF OUTDOOR LIGHTING

New deck and rail accents add style and simplicity to outdoor spaces

(YORK, Pa.) — Wolf Home Products today announced the launch of Wolf Outdoor Lighting, a series of easy-to-install deck and rail accent products that are available now in all of Wolf’s building products service areas.  Wolf Outdoor Lighting products are compatible with all Wolf Rail and Westbury Rail products and include stair and side lights, under-rail lights, strip lights, post cap lights, as well as all wiring harnesses and connections. Other key features of Wolf Outdoor Lighting include:

  • Three options for post cap sizes (2”, 2.5”, 4”)

By adding Wolf Outdoor Lighting, Wolf has further expanded the range of selection and accents that independent dealers can offer their customers. CHECK YOUR DECK® THIS MAY

CHECK YOUR DECK® THIS MAY

BY WOLF HOME PRODUCTS | 05.01.2017

Wolf Home Products is proud to partner with NADRA, the North American Deck and Railing Association, this month to recognize Deck Safety Month® to promote outdoor living in a beautiful and safe environment.

For many, May marks the unofficial start to summer. This means it’s time to get outside to work in the garden and start cleaning up the deck for summer BBQs. In addition to having a clean deck, it’s important to make sure you have a safe deck. Wolf and NADRA recommend homeowners Check Your Deck® this May before kicking off summer activities.

There are an estimated 40 million residential and 10 million commercial decks in the United States, with 50% of them being more than 20 years old. To ensure the safety of your family and friends, it’s important for homeowners to check their decks on a yearly basis. Outdoor structures like decks are exposed to sun, rain, snow and extreme temperature changes over the years. The need to maintain and inspect them is critical for keeping decks strong and safe and helps to avoid possible collapses.

NADRA offers a 10-Point Consumer Safety Checklist, which is an efficient way to take a good look at the different parts of the deck, with an eye to what might need maintenance, repair or replacement. Below are 10 parts to examine when you Check Your Deck®:

  1. Split or decaying wood
  2. Flashing
  3. Loose or corroded fasteners
  4. Railings and banisters
  5. Stairs
  6. Cleaning and maintenance
  7. Grills, fire pits, chimneys, heaters, and candles
  8. Lighting and electrical
  9. Outdoor furniture and storage
  10. Surrounding trees

Homeowners should also consider a professional deck inspection. A professional inspector will thoroughly examine your deck, provide information on your deck’s capacity limits, identify any dangerous problem areas and give you some insight into what to keep your eye on in the future.

It’s important to remember that older decks require closer scrutiny and regular inspections. Many decks were built before code requirements were established to protect consumers. Some of these older decks may have deck-to-house attachments using only nails instead of the current recommended construction using deck tension hardware that greatly helps in the prevention of ledger failures.

Once you Check Your Deck® and ensure it’s safe, grab your friends and fire up that grill for your first BBQ of the summer!

WOLF HOME PRODUCTS PARTNERS WITH PRIMESOURCE TO EXPAND DECKING DISTRIBUTION

Partnership makes Wolf Decking available across the Midwest

YORK, PA — As part of an ongoing expansion effort to broaden its service area, Wolf Home Products has reached an agreement with PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. to be its newest Midwest distributor of U.S.-made Wolf PVC Decking. Effective immediately, the agreement with the Minneapolis location —  currently servicing dealers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota — will add decking to their wide array of building product offerings.

“We are excited about this partnership as it allows us to grow into an important segment of the building products industry,” said Brian Fallin, Regional VP of PrimeSource. “It is our mission to constantly refresh our product offering to include the newest innovations and to provide our customers with an array of choices that they and their customers will feel passionate about.”

Wolf PVC Decking is strong and lightweight, featuring polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and an acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate (ASA) capstock for superior durability. Wolf PVC Decking will not split or rot and is resistant to mold, mildew and insects. It’s also covered by Wolf’s 25-year Stain & Fade Warranty.

Both Wolf Home products and PrimeSource conducted extensive research on the market and found a widespread acceptance of synthetic decking in the Midwest. Robert Lett Sr., VP/National Sales & Marketing at Wolf, spoke with numerous independent contractors and dealers in the areas serviced by PrimeSource’s Minnesota location and experienced an overwhelmingly positive response to the Wolf-branded PVC decking products.

“After speaking with several industry professionals in the region, partnering with PrimeSource made complete sense. They are a favored distributor in the area, PVC decking is a favorable product in the area, and Wolf has a unique, high-quality product with the supply to keep up with the area’s demand,” said Lett.

PrimeSource will carry Wolf PVC Decking in the Tropical Hardwood and Seaside Collections, totaling eight colors.

Is excellence a lost art?

http://lifepalette.com/establish-path-personal-excellence/

By: Kevin Jackson

Vice President, Process Innovation & Technology at WOLF

The more I experience life, the more I realize how far we have strayed from excellence as a society.  The status quo is widely accepted and mediocracy has sadly become the norm for a lot of individuals.  The question of the day is, why?

Where is the work ethic of those that came before us?  Has technology made us lazy?  Are we too reliant on constant contact and information?  Why don’t we focus enough time on building strong personal relationships?  Why don’t we smile?  Has social media forced us to live for “Likes” and “Retweets”?  Why don’t we speak to each other, encourage one another and respect one another?  Why don’t we volunteer, give with a cheerful heart and check our egos at the door?

I really don’t know why excellence has seemed to slip away, but I do know this.  As for me, my family and my team, we will be excellent!  Excellence exists when leaders embody servant leadership and a commitment to positivity every single day.  I will always challenge myself and those around me to be better than we were yesterday.

If we are not doing our best, we become like the rest!  Friends, stand with me in excellence!  It’s a daily choice, not a lost art!

WOLF HOME PRODUCTS UNVEILS NEW LOGO,

REBRANDING EFFORT

Updated look highlights company’s independent streak and “forward-looking” spirit

(YORK, Pa.) — Wolf Home Products spent the past several years transforming itself into a platform for growth and innovation. Now, it has a new look to match.

Wolf Home Products unveiled its new logo recently — part of a wide-ranging rebranding effort that will amplify Wolf’s strengths in the marketplace as it refreshes the company’s most visible representation. Wolf Home Products delivers Wolf-branded lines and other high-quality cabinetry and building materials to more than 4,000 dealers.

The company’s new logo features a clean design, a dominant “W,” and its signature “howling wolf” silhouette — a symbol that dually represents Wolf’s independent streak and its commitment to independent building materials dealers.

Wolf President and CEO Craig Danielson said the new logo captures the company’s innovation and forward-looking spirit.  The rebranding will also continue to boost Wolf’s profile among contractors and homeowners, who have fueled the company’s recent growth.

“Wolf has successfully established itself as a leading supplier of American-made products available through independent dealers. Our Wolf-branded product lines have enabled us to rapidly expand our geographical footprint,” Danielson said. “This is the ideal time to introduce a new look-and-feel that represents the spirit of a company on the move.”

The rebranding effort is the company’s first in years and the most extensive in decades for a company with roots that stretch back to 1843. In the coming months, the rebranding effort will extend to Wolf product packaging, sales materials, a new company website, displays, and much more.

The company currently delivers a wide range of Wolf-branded lines, including decking, railing, kitchen cabinets, vanity tops, trim and moulding, and more. Wolf Home Products continuously seeks to expand and modify its product offerings to meet the needs of independent dealers and the contractors they serve.

WOLF Releases Key Buyer Index for April 2015

WOLF RELEASES KEY BUYER INDEX (KBI) FOR APRIL 2015

Momentum, good weather continue record run for industry metric

(York, Pa.) — WOLF, the largest supplier of kitchen cabinets in the U.S. and a leading provider of building products, today reported the findings of the WOLF Key Buyer Index (KBI) for April 2015.

The April 2015 score of 75.94 — slightly higher than March’s KBI, which was itself a record—signals continued momentum from a strong start to the second quarter.  Weather conditions have significantly improved in all markets and key buyers are recovering from a backlog of projects on the books.  There is no indication of a slow-down in the forecast as long as the skilled labor market can keep up with the demand.

WOLF developed KBI, a proprietary metric that offers a monthly snapshot of independent dealers’ sentiments, to provide a concrete measure of how building materials buyers see the near-term future of their industry. WOLF gathers data for the KBI from a monthly survey of key buyers at independent building materials dealers across 21 states. A WOLF KBI score of 50 reflects a neutral outlook; a score above 50 reflects a positive outlook; and a score below 50 reflects a negative outlook.

Here’s a regional breakdown:

Mid Atlantic region     Business confidence and store traffic continues to rise in the northern part of this region as the overall KBI increased 2 points to 86.00.  Kitchen-at-a-time business remains steady and projects continue to emerge.  Building products remain optimistic following solid sales in March, continued temperate weather and indicators of continued brisk business.  In the southern part of the region, the first quarter was strong for the majority of dealers, and that sentiment shows no signs of waning. Dealers are feeling comfortable with inventory levels, consumer confidence is holding steady and foot traffic continues to increase at the store level.

Northeast region   Winter has finally ended in the Northeast. As a result, dealers have seen increased foot traffic in both building product and kitchen product showrooms.  Some dealers expressed concerns that they may not recover all of the lost business from the poor first quarter weather. This is reflected in a slight drop in the building products score from 96.67 to 90.0.

The Midwest/Southeastern region April has been an exceptionally busy month and dealers see that trend continuing for the next four weeks, as reflected in a 5-point jump in KBI score to 66.67.  This region has seen a steady flow of new construction activity and remodeling work.  Foot traffic into showrooms has picked up dramatically and quoted projects are now being solidified as orders since the weather has improved.

Both the overall Building Products and Kitchen & Bath scores have shown a year over year increase, with the former gaining 9 points and the latter gaining 1.5 points on April 2014.

For more information on the WOLF Key Buyer Index, read the detailed explanation or see the latest KBI

score at www.wolfleader.com.

WOLF EXPANDS AVAILABILITY OF BUILDERS MARK CABINETS, ADDS PAINTED WHITE FINISH

Value-price cabinet line offers kitchen-at-a-time delivery in just 14 days

(York, Pa.) — WOLF Home Products today announced it will add a Painted White finish to the three existing colors in its Builders Mark line of cabinets. The new finish was added in response to market demand and dealer requests.

WOLF also announced it would expand the service area for Builders Mark cabinets, based on rising demand for the popular value-priced line. The new Painted White finish will be available in 28 eastern, mid-western and southern states. All four of the line’s finishes will be available in the original Builders Mark service area, which includes 11 southern states.

WOLF is the largest supplier of kitchen cabinets in the U.S. and a leading provider of building products along the East Coast.

Builders Mark Cabinets combine competitive pricing with durability, providing superior value for light commercial, multifamily and price-sensitive projects. WOLF created Builders Mark to provide a reliable U.S.-made alternative to cabinets manufactured overseas.

One huge advantage:  customers can order Builders Mark Cabinets by the truckload or kitchen-at-a-time, and receive them in 14 business days or less. Like all WOLF Home Products, Builders Mark Cabinets are available only from independent dealers.

Key features of all Builders Mark Cabinets:

  • Solid maple face frames with 1/2″ industrial grade furniture board to provide strength and stability
  • Four colors: Harvest Brown, Espresso, Auburn and new Painted White
  • Durable finish that resists scratches, dents and dings
  • Fully adjustable 1/2″ shelves and fully concealed self-closing hinges

WOLF’s expansion of Builders Mark Cabinets is the latest step in a major strategic shift that began in 2010. That year, WOLF began the transition from a traditional two-step distributor to a sourcing company that focuses on identifying or developing products designed solely to meet the needs of independent dealers.  Today, WOLF delivers products and programs to more than 3,000 pro dealers across 33 states.
